Let's Take Our Country Back

It's time to require honesty and integrity from our representatives in the House and Senate. Just recently, I found myself in agreement with, and having great respect for, a Democrat! Senator Ben Nelson, of Nebraska, was a holdout to the "health care reform" bill in the Senate, because it contained language that would require our tax money to subsidize abortions. Regardless of his party, this caused me to have great respect for him. In the end, he was the needed 60th vote to pass the bill that the soon-to-be-fired (and anything but honest) Harry Reid had drafted behind closed doors - to ensure that the majority of Americans (who opposed his bill) were not represented.

This is when Senator Nelson lost his integrity, as well as my respect and that of millions of others. His beliefs against our having to pay for the abortions of human babies was bought with concessions that he'll soon find were not worth it politically or in God's eyes. He prostituted his "representative" position to gain monetarily for his state.

The decision by two-term Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson to provide the needed 60th vote to pass health care reform legislation after wringing several concessions from party leaders has cost him in his home state of Nebraska. Sixty-two percent of voters said they disapproved of what he did, according to a Rasmussen Report poll conducted Dec. 28. Seventeen percent approved and 22 percent were undecided.

Nelson will not be up for re-election until 2012 - but he will, most probably, be fired then - possibly and sadly, to then become the ultimate prostitute - a lobbyist who pulls down five times the filthy lucre that he does presently. All he has to do is "sell" his soul for the mighty dollar. As for many others, i.e. Lincoln of Louisiana - the pink slips come in 2010!
